Focus of Research :
Gender, Livelihood, Grass root Institutions and Socio-economic Studies in Fisheries
Background :
I joined Visakhapatnam Regional Centre of CMFRI on 18 February 2021, after a stint of seven years in ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture, Bhubaneswar and 14 years in ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology, at its Research Centre in Visakhapatnam and its Headquarters at Kochi. My research and extension works covered the fields of gender, livelihood, grass root institutions and socio-economic studies in agriculture. My earlier works in fisheries include; assessment of harvest and post harvest losses in inland fisheries, fuel consumption pattern by the mechanized and motorized fishing sectors in Andhra Pradesh, assessment of group dynamics among fisherwomen self help groups and participatory assessment of livelihood options for women in the coastal ecosystem. Apart from Institute projects, have worked in externally funded projects of NATP, NAIP, DST, ICSSR and DSIR. Also worked in a collaborative project with IRRI for farmwomen leadership and entrepreneurship development.

- Deputation to IRRI, Philippines as part of the capacity building of researchers and extension officials under the Odisha-IRRI Programme on Increasing Productivity of Rice based Cropping Systems and Farmers Income in Odisha.
- Certificate of Appreciation from IRRI, Philippines for the Leadership and Entrepreneurship Development Programs for Women in Agriculture at ICAR-CIWA, Bhubaneswar.
- Served as Consultant for Marine Products Export Development Authority and Odisha Watershed Development Mission.
